Stefanović: SNS Diplomats Are Fleeing to Reserve Posts With Good Pay

Borko Stefanović, deputy leader of Serbia’s Freedom and Justice Party, says a flight has begun among senior diplomats associated with the Serbian Progressive Party. In a post on X, he described their moves abroad as an effort to secure reserve positions that are also well paid.

Stefanović said Foreign Minister Marko Đurić was preparing to become Serbia’s ambassador to the United Nations in New York. He also said Đurić’s chief of staff was heading for an ambassadorship in Portugal, while Kozarev, the secretary-general of Serbia’s Foreign Ministry, was set to become consul general in Miami.

He further claimed that Serbia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan and former head of the country’s Military Intelligence Agency, General Vladisavljević, would move directly from Baku to become ambassador in Moscow. Stefanović linked that appointment to strengthening security cooperation with Russia and said the general spoke Russian.

Stefanović also said the head of the Foreign Ministry’s security service, along with what he called “Đurić’s unsuccessful man for the region,” was going to become consul general in Herceg Novi. He questioned whether that official had finally obtained a university degree, alleging that the person had performed responsible ministry duties unlawfully without one.

The opposition politician called the moves only part of a broader process that he described as the dismantling of Serbia’s diplomacy. “Do not unpack, gentlemen, you will be home soon,” he wrote.
