Stewart McLean, 'Virgin River' actor, dies; authorities investigate homicide

Hollywood is mourning the loss of Canadian actor Stewart McLean, 45, who was found dead in Canada. McLean, recognized for his role in the popular series "Virgin River," had been the subject of an intensive search after being reported missing.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Squamish were notified of McLean's disappearance on May 18. He was last seen on May 15 near his residence in Lions Bay, a community within Vancouver. Investigators initially launched a search, but evidence soon led authorities to "believe that Mr. McLean was the victim of homicide," according to a press release.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case on May 21. The following day, the worst fears were confirmed when the actor's remains were found in the Lions Bay area. The discovery was reported by People magazine, citing a statement from the RCMP.

McLean, born in Edmonton on April 24, 1981, also had credits in "Arrow" and "Travelers." His talent agency, Lucas Talent Inc., shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, remembering him as "dedicated, professional, enthusiastic, and infinitely fun."
