Storm wall approaches: Heavy rain, 50 km/h gusts, and abrupt weather change expected

Argentina is bracing for a significant weather shift as a powerful storm system moves in, promising heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong wind gusts reaching up to 50 kilometers per hour across much of the country.

The capital, Buenos Aires, is set to face the brunt of the instability on Friday. While Thursday is expected to remain relatively stable with partly cloudy skies, conditions will deteriorate overnight. Light rain may begin in the morning, but the real intensity is predicted for the afternoon and evening, with a high probability of thunderstorms and gusts that could reach 50 km/h. Temperatures will rise slightly despite the inclement weather, with a maximum of 20°C.

Beyond the capital, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued rain alerts for parts of Neuquén, Río Negro, and Chubut. Meanwhile, Patagonia will continue to experience winter conditions, facing warnings for snowfall and extreme temperatures. The western region of Neuquén is also under a wind alert, and Mendoza is anticipating Zonda winds.

Following Friday's storms, a noticeable temperature drop is expected over the weekend. Saturday will still see a chance of rain, but conditions should improve in the afternoon. By Sunday, temperatures will fall significantly, with a minimum of 8°C and a maximum of 16°C.
