Stormy 'Herr Teufel Faust' premiere delayed by weather at Carnuntum amphitheater

The premiere of "Herr Teufel Faust" at the Carnuntum amphitheater was dramatically impacted by nature's forces, leading to a 24-hour delay. The performance, part of the Art Carnuntum festival, was scheduled to open under the moonlight, but severe weather conditions intervened.

Strong winds and storms lashed the ancient open-air amphitheater near Vienna, causing significant damage to the stage structures. The adverse weather conditions were so intense that the festival organizers had to postpone the opening night. Actor Dominique Horwitz, portraying the titular character, was set to deliver lines from Goethe's classic, including "Storms rage in a race… furiously forming a chain."
