Street brawl in Istanbul leaves one man severely beaten

A violent street brawl erupted in Gaziosmanpaşa, Istanbul, on Tuesday evening, leaving one man seriously injured. The incident began around 9 p.m. on Şehit Mustafa Yeşil Street in the Yeni Mahalle neighborhood. A verbal dispute escalated into a physical assault when individuals from a group walking on the street confronted people in a moving car.

Eyewitnesses reported that a person from the street group stopped the car and punched a passenger. The driver quickly sped away, but later returned with reinforcements. The group then launched a brutal attack on the individual who had thrown the punch, beating him with kicks and punches until he fell to the ground, appearing motionless. The attackers continued to kick him in the head while he was down.

The assault only ended when a woman from the vicinity intervened. The entire incident was captured on mobile phone cameras by bystanders. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured man received initial treatment and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Harun Akarsu, a local resident, described the scene: "Three people together beat one person. A woman tried to break it up, but they didn't listen to her. They had to let go when the crowd intervened. An ambulance and police arrived. One person was semi-conscious." He added that the injured man eventually regained consciousness before being taken away by ambulance.
