Student Beaten, Robbed After Torcida Tattoo Provokes Attack

A brutal assault on a 32-year-old student from the Croatian Military Academy has led to the arrest of four suspects, with investigators examining severe violence captured on surveillance footage. The attack, which occurred around 3 a.m. on May 28 near a cafe on Horvaćanska Street, is being investigated as a potential attempted murder driven by hate and low motives.

The victim told investigators that he approached a group of young men at a nearby table to ask for a cigarette. They offered him cigarettes from their car and asked him to step outside. Once outside, they attacked him. The student believes the sole motive for the assault was a large Torcida tattoo on his arm, stating they did not engage in any prior conflict.

During the violent beating, the assailants allegedly stomped on the student's head with their feet and continued to strike him while he was on the ground. He sustained a broken nose and facial fractures. Following the assault, the attackers also robbed him, stealing his mobile phone, wallet containing 100 euros, and his military ID card.

One of the suspects, Ivan L., has been placed in custody in Remetinec, facing charges of attempted aggravated murder. Marko R. and Luka G. were previously taken into custody for the beating. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to apprehend the fifth individual involved in the attack.
