Student from Disadvantaged Background Admitted to Master's Program with Support from Charity

Lin Jian-hong, a student supported by the Changhua Home for the Homeless, has been accepted into the master's program at Chung Hua University's Department of Information Management. Lin's family faces significant challenges, with his mother and older sister having disabilities, placing the sole financial burden on his father. Despite his difficult circumstances, Lin pursued his education with the help of the Changhua Home for the Homeless. He initially enrolled in the Department of Information Management at Chung Hua University and, last year, utilized the "Elite Cultivation Plan" to prepare for postgraduate studies. Lin returned to the Changhua Home for the Homeless to receive blessings from his juniors and teachers. He shared that his family's finances depend entirely on his father, and the support from the Changhua Home was crucial for him to attend university. The financial strain intensified after he enrolled in university, but his passion for information management led him to pursue a master's degree. Encouraged by the Home's staff, he decided to prepare for the graduate entrance exams during his third year of undergraduate studies. The social workers assisted him in gaining extensive experience through projects and extracurricular activities. Combined with his excellent academic record and a comprehensive application, he was successfully admitted to the master's program through recommendation.
