"Students are winning" banner displayed on Malta ahead of EXIT festival

In solidarity with ongoing student protests, members of the Serbian diaspora initiative "Malta supports students" unfurled a banner proclaiming "Students are winning" on the historic walls of Valletta. The act took place just before the commencement of the EXIT festival's Spiral event on Malta.

The initiative, a joint effort between the EXIT festival organizers and the Serbian community in Malta, aims to voice support for student activism. Photos of the banner displayed on the fortifications were shared across social media platforms by EXIT, the "Malta supports students" initiative, and student representatives.

The Spiral festival is scheduled to run from July 31 to August 2, featuring performances by international stars such as Fatboy Slim, Nina Kraviz, and Lilly Palmer, alongside Serbian artists including Lanna, Divolly & Markvard, Juno, and Reblok. The festival will host events at various club and beach locations.

This display of support echoes previous actions where similar "Students are winning" messages appeared during the EXIT to Montenegro festival and on the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia. These gestures highlight a continued connection between the EXIT festival and student movements, particularly as this year's main EXIT festival was held off-site from its traditional Petrovaradin Fortress venue.
