Students protest, demand education minister's resignation; police block march in Dhaka

Police intervened today to stop a group of protesting students who marched towards the education ministry in Dhaka, demanding the resignation of Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon.

The students reached the vicinity of Shikkha Bhaban around 4:00 PM after traversing the Dhaka University campus. However, police barricades, erected earlier, prevented their progress, according to multiple video sources from the scene. Unable to move forward, the protesters gathered outside the ministry building, chanting slogans as part of their planned "Long March to the Education Ministry."

Earlier in the afternoon, approximately 50 to 100 students had assembled at the Science Lab intersection around 2:35 PM. They blocked traffic at this busy junction for about 15 to 20 minutes. Following their demonstration at the intersection, the students proceeded towards the Secretariat before ultimately arriving at Shikkha Bhaban, where law enforcement prevented further advancement.
