Stuttgart attack: Judge to decide on suspect's detention after mall stabbing and arson

Authorities in Stuttgart are awaiting a judge's decision on whether to issue an arrest warrant for a 54-year-old man suspected of brutally attacking a woman in a shopping center. The 47-year-old victim was critically injured after being stabbed and set on fire at her workplace within the mall on Thursday. Police have not released new details regarding her current health condition.

The suspect is believed to have been in a relationship with the victim, though it remains unclear if they were still together at the time of the attack. Investigators are also working to determine how the suspect ignited the victim. The man fled the scene after the assault but was apprehended by authorities approximately two hours later in the Stuttgart district of Heumaden.
