Su Chiao-hui proposes education policies: Connect industry-academia resources, be the strongest support for teachers and students

Su Chiao-hui, a legislative member and candidate for mayor of New Taipei City, has unveiled a comprehensive set of educational policy proposals aimed at revitalizing the city's learning landscape. During an education forum attended by former Minister of Education Pan Wen-chung and various educational groups, Su outlined her vision for a more integrated and supportive educational system.

She will leverage her cross-border integration capabilities and execution power to open up children's imagination, and at the same time be a strong backing for teachers and parents.

Central to her platform is the promotion of "National Study Tours," designed to deepen adaptive education by leveraging New Taipei's diverse geographical and cultural resources. This initiative would allow urban students to experience mountain education in Wulai or coastal village culture, fostering a stronger connection to their local identity and land through sensory experiences.

Su also plans to build upon New Taipei's strong vocational education foundation, which covers 13 out of 15 national vocational fields. Her proposals include upgrading practical training facilities and factory equipment. The city government would actively connect with industry and academic resources, bringing in university and industry instructors to strengthen AI vocational courses. This aims to equip students with the latest tools, ensuring a seamless transition into the workforce and encouraging industry investment in New Taipei, thereby fostering youth employment and establishing a virtuous cycle.

I will promote 'National Study Tours' in the future to deepen adaptive education, connecting the characteristics and resources of New Taipei's mountains, seas, cities, and countryside.

Furthermore, Su intends to extend her "cross-border integration" philosophy to school management. She advocates for inter-school alliances based on regions to promote resource sharing. To address declining enrollment due to low birth rates, she proposes mixed-age teaching and transforming schools based on local characteristics into experimental schools or lifelong learning centers. To support educators, Su plans to simplify administrative procedures, provide more specialized counselors, and enhance student counseling centers with professional teams and supervisory systems. For campus incidents, she supports anonymous reporting and a "campus case diversion and communication first" approach, with serious violations like bullying and corporal punishment undergoing professional investigation. A dedicated office with experts, legal professionals, psychologists, educators, and parent representatives will ensure transparent investigations.
