Subash Tamang wins Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship in playoff

Subash Tamang clinched the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship title, the final event of the 2025-26 Surya Nepal Golf Tour, after a dramatic playoff at the Gokarna Golf Club. Tamang, Bhuvan Nagarkoti, and amateur Sadbhav Acharya were locked in a tie at 18-under 270 after 72 holes, forcing a sudden-death playoff.

On the first playoff hole, the par-72 10th hole, Tamang secured his victory with a par, as both Nagarkoti and Acharya missed their respective par putts. Tamang had entered the final round with a one-stroke lead and carded a 3-under 69 to reach the 18-under total. Nagarkoti shot a 4-under 68, and Acharya fired a bogey-free 6-under 66 to force the playoff.

Tamang's win came with a prize of Rs320,000. Nagarkoti, who received Rs206,000 as runner-up, ended the season as the Order of Merit leader, having won four titles and earned Rs1.03 million. In the amateur category, Acharya secured a dominant victory with an 8-stroke margin over Rahul Bishwakarma.

Among the professional golfers, Sukra Bahadur Rai finished third at 15-under 273, earning Rs162,000. The tournament, which featured 68 golfers including 46 professionals and 22 amateurs, had a total prize purse of Rs1.8 million. The event concluded with a Pro-Am competition.
