Summit advocates skills devt for business growth

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has emphasized the importance of developing business, leadership, and vocational skills to foster self-reliance, create jobs, and contribute to Nigeria's economy. This message was central to the recent RCCG Business Summit, organized by the church's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team in Lagos.

We designed this conference to be an economic empowerment programme that speaks to investment in various sectors of the economy. We brought in speakers from real estate, banking and finance, investment, agriculture and the agri-value chain, as well as media and communication. The purpose is to empower people.

The summit, themed ‘Empower Your Future: Skills for Business and Career Success,’ brought together business leaders to equip Nigerians with practical knowledge across various economic sectors. Pastor Bayo Olugbemi, Assistant Pastor in Charge of Region 59 (CSR), highlighted that the conference was designed as an economic empowerment program. Speakers from real estate, banking, finance, investment, agriculture, and media shared insights to empower participants.

Olugbemi stressed that the initiative is open to everyone, regardless of religion, with the church aiming to help participants identify opportunities for financial independence. He noted that empowering individuals to become self-sufficient and run their own businesses benefits not only themselves but also the broader economy and the world.

There are a lot of things people can do that will make them self-sufficient and empower them to run their own businesses. Let them pick the areas where they can be empowered, become useful to themselves, the economy at large and the world.

The RCCG Region 59 CSR Coordinator, Pastor Kunle Eyitemi, added that the summit aimed to restore hope by providing practical skills and life-changing information. He emphasized the critical role of information when processed and utilized effectively. The church also supports aspiring entrepreneurs through empowerment programs and business assistance, recognizing the multiplier effect of lifting even one person out of poverty.
