Super Falcons’ Camp Bubbles with Full House in Ikenne

The Super Falcons, Nigeria's national women's football team, have assembled a full squad in Ikenne-Remo for their training camp ahead of the Women Africa Cup of Nations. Their opponents, Senegal's Lionesses of the Teranga, also arrived to participate in two friendly matches.

The first match is scheduled for Friday, with the second leg taking place on Monday. Both games will kick off at 4 p.m. at the Remo Stars Sports Complex. Head Coach Justine Madugu has called up Israel-based midfielder Josephine Matthias to replace the unavailable Halimat Ayinde. Forward Gift Monday was the last player expected to join the camp.

The Falcons' camp features a blend of experienced players like Asisat Oshoala and Francisca Ordega, alongside emerging talents. Nigeria, aiming for a record-extending 11th continental title, is drawn in Group C with Egypt, Zambia, and Malawi. Senegal will compete in Group A. The tournament, held in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, also serves as a qualifier for the next FIFA Women's World Cup, with the top four teams securing direct qualification and the fifth-placed team entering a playoff.
