Survey decides: Mural to be installed on Zagreb's Horvaćanska street, featuring nature theme

A new mural will soon adorn Horvaćanska street in Zagreb, following a public survey conducted by the City District Council of Trešnjevka – jug in collaboration with the Center for Culture.

The survey, held from July 10 to 19, aimed to involve residents in selecting both the location and theme for the mural. The primary goal, according to the Center for Culture Trešnjevka, is to "create a quality work of art that will enrich the public space, contribute to the identity of Trešnjevka – jug, and become a new recognizable symbol of the district."

Residents overwhelmingly chose nature as the preferred theme for the mural. They also indicated that beautifying the public space was the most important factor for them. These preferences will serve as the foundation for the mural's design.

Moving forward, the council will invite artists to submit their proposals. These submissions will be based on the chosen location on Horvaćanska street, emphasizing the theme of nature and the value residents placed on enhancing their surroundings.
