Survivor recounts terrifying escape from Enugu Air plane crash in Nigeria

Content creator Chinedu, known as Triple Pin, shared a harrowing account of surviving an Enugu Air plane crash at Benin Airport. He described the terrifying moments when the aircraft veered off the runway during landing.

This is how these big dreams would have gone. Our plane crashed today.

Triple Pin recounted how heavy rainfall severely impacted visibility, leaving him questioning the pilot's navigation. The aircraft circled multiple times before losing control and heading towards the bush. "All of a sudden, all I heard was noise. Everybody was in panic," he said.

I used to see things like this in movies and on social media. I thought it was limited to that.

He expressed immense gratitude that the plane did not catch fire, attributing this to the ongoing rain. "The reason our plane didn’t catch fire was because rain was falling. That is how I would have died," he stated, emphasizing that he emerged from the incident without any injuries.

The whole window was blurry because rain was falling. I was wondering how the pilot was able to continue despite the weather.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau has launched an investigation into the runway excursion involving the Embraer E170 aircraft, which was flying from Lagos to Benin. The bureau confirmed that all 63 passengers and five crew members on board were safely evacuated.
