Suspect captured in homicide of man performing community service in Colón

Authorities in Colón, Panama, have apprehended a man suspected of involvement in the fatal shooting of a 39-year-old man. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 21, in the Altos de Los Lagos sector.

The victim was engaged in cleaning duties as part of a community service sentence assigned by the Cristóbal Este Communal Board. Preliminary reports indicate that while he was working, several individuals approached him and fired at least six shots without provocation.

He was critically wounded and transported by police to the Hospital Manuel Amador Guerrero, where he was pronounced dead. Law enforcement secured the crime scene for evidence collection and investigation by judicial authorities.
