Suspect wanted for drug trafficking by France arrested in Istanbul

An individual sought by French judicial authorities for alleged involvement in international drug trafficking and money laundering has been apprehended in Istanbul. The suspect, identified as S.K., aged 35, was arrested during an operation conducted in the Kağıthane district of the city.

The successful apprehension was the result of a coordinated effort involving the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Crimes Branch, the Intelligence Branch, and Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MİT). The operation was carried out under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

French authorities had issued a "diffusion message," a type of international alert, for S.K. due to his alleged roles in trafficking, possessing, and transporting narcotics, as well as laundering money derived from these activities. The suspect is currently undergoing processing at the police station as legal proceedings continue.
