Suspected extortionist arrested after victim reports threats and forced deposits

Authorities in Culiacán, Sinaloa, have arrested a 36-year-old man identified as Luis Antonio “N” on suspicion of extortion. The arrest follows an investigation initiated after a victim reported receiving persistent threats and demands for money.

According to the investigation, the alleged extortion scheme began in October 2025. The victim reported receiving intimidating phone calls and messages demanding various sums of money. As the demands escalated and became more frequent, the victim made bank transfers and deposits under duress.

Prompted by the escalating threats and financial demands, the victim filed a formal complaint with the State Attorney General's Office. Specialized agents from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit gathered evidence and intelligence, leading to the identification of Luis Antonio “N” as the probable perpetrator.

A judge issued an arrest warrant, which was subsequently executed. Luis Antonio “N” has been placed at the disposal of the Penal Court of the Northern Region of the State, where his legal situation will be determined.
