Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure faced potential threats early Sunday, with reports of an explosion at a gas facility in the industrial hub of Jubail on the eastern coast. Israeli media outlets suggested that Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi rebels were responsible for the incident, though official Saudi confirmation linking the blast to the Houthis is still pending.

Anadolu Agency and Iran's state broadcaster IRIB, citing Arab sources, also reported a loud explosion and subsequent fire in Jubail Industrial City, a critical center for energy and petrochemicals. The exact cause of the Jubail incident remains unconfirmed, and reports could not be independently verified at the time.

Industrial Security Firefighting Teams affiliated with Saudi Aramco extinguished a fire that broke out at dawn today, Sunday, corresponding to 26/2/1448 AH, in one of the facilities belonging to the Saudi Aramco Refinery in Jazan, with no injuries.

In a separate event, a fire erupted at a Saudi Aramco facility in Jazan, located in the southwestern part of the kingdom near Yemen. The Saudi Ministry of Energy confirmed that the fire was quickly extinguished by Aramco's industrial security teams, and importantly, no injuries were reported. The ministry did not provide a cause for the Jazan fire or suggest it was linked to an attack.

These incidents occur amid heightened regional tensions and renewed concerns over attacks targeting Saudi energy assets. The Houthis have previously claimed responsibility for missile and drone strikes on facilities in Jazan and Yanbu. The latest developments follow the recent signing of the "Mecca Joint Defence Agreement" between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, aimed at strengthening collective deterrence in West Asia.
