The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when perpetrators gained access to a concrete shaft near the tracks between Backnang and the Maubach district. They severed multiple cables, leading to data outages that affected train operations, internet, and telephone services in the city of 38,000 residents, located northeast of Stuttgart.
