Suspicious suitcase outside bakery prompts major cordon in Darmstadt

A suspicious suitcase outside a bakery in central Darmstadt prompted police to seal off a large area and temporarily halt buses and trains.

Police said someone reported the unattended luggage at about 12:15. A patrol found it at a bicycle rack outside the bakery.

Officers cordoned off the area as a precaution, police said. The report was carried by dpa Hessen on September 5, 2026.
