Sweden's World Cup warm-up against Greece marred by captain's injury scare

Sweden will play their final warm-up match before the North American World Cup against Greece on Thursday evening. The match, kicking off at 7:00 PM at the Strawberry Arena, is the team's last opportunity to fine-tune their strategy and lineup before the major tournament.

Coach Graham Potter has implemented several changes to the starting eleven compared to the team's previous outing, a loss against Norway. These adjustments are aimed at testing different player combinations and tactical approaches.

However, a significant concern for Swedish fans is the absence of team captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf. He was scheduled to start but is not even on the bench. "Victor has a feeling after yesterday's training. With the World Cup premiere just around the corner, we don't want to take any risks and are therefore letting him sit out today's match," explained coach Graham Potter to the Swedish Football Association's website. "He is expected to be back in training within a few days."
