Sweet anchor Li Hsin-yun recounts terrifying phone fall in Prague

Taiwanese news anchor Li Hsin-yun, known for her "sweet anchor" persona and a master's degree from Durham University, recently faced a harrowing experience while vacationing in Prague.

While taking photos from a fifth-floor balcony, her selfie stick, purchased online, proved unstable. The phone slipped and plummeted to the first floor. In a panic, Li, wearing slippers, rushed downstairs without using the elevator, fearing the worst – a shattered phone or theft in the busy street.

Fortunately, her phone survived the fall, though the repair cost nearly NT$20,000. Li shared her ordeal on Facebook, humorously noting the high price of the photos taken with the faulty equipment. She expressed relief that the phone's glass didn't break, attributing her luck to divine intervention and good karma.

"You could say I was carrying a hidden bomb for several days," she quipped to reporters the morning after her return, marveling at the phone's resilience. Despite the scare, Li maintains her fit physique through regular exercise, a fact she proudly shared.
