Tabasco Governor highlights arrest of 'El Koki' as proof of commitment to security

Tabasco Governor Javier May Rodríguez has highlighted the recent arrest of Jorge Luis, known as "El Koki," a leader of a criminal group in the state, as a testament to his administration's commitment to public safety.

"We promised to combat crime at all levels, and we are fulfilling it," Governor May stated via social media. He emphasized the coordinated efforts between state and federal authorities, noting that "efforts are being redoubled for the peace of Tabasco families."

The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) expressed gratitude to the federal government for its collaboration in apprehending "El Koki," who was identified as a priority target and the alleged leader of the "Pueblo Unido" criminal organization. The FGE confirmed that a valid arrest warrant was in place for Jorge Luis, stemming from investigations conducted by the state agency.

This successful operation was the result of intelligence gathering and close coordination between federal and state entities. Participating agencies included the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection, the Secretariat of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy, the National Guard, the Federal Attorney General's Office, and the state's Interinstitutional Force for Tactical Reaction (FIRT) Olmeca.
