Taekwondowon to Host Summer Festival with Free Water Play and Expanded Performances

Taekwondowon in Muju is gearing up to welcome visitors during the summer vacation season with a range of attractions. The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation announced its "Taekwondowon Summer Event," running from July 25 to August 17, which includes extending operating hours to include Mondays, the usual closing day.

A free inflatable swimming pool will be set up in front of the ticket office, offering a place for visitors to cool off. The pool will be maintained at a depth of about 60 centimeters, with lifeguards on duty to ensure safety. Photo zones and DJ parties are also planned to enhance the entertainment.

The popular "Taekwon Beat" performance will also see expanded operations. During the event, it will be performed twice daily on weekdays and three times on weekends, with an additional show in the afternoon. Participants can also sign up on-site for taekwondo experience events, such as breaking demonstrations, following the performances.

Recent surveys show high satisfaction with the "Taekwon Beat" show, with a satisfaction score of 4.95 out of 5 and a re-watch intention of 4.89 among over 600 surveyed visitors in June. Visitors came from across the country, with the largest group from the Seoul and Gyeonggi region (38%), followed by Chungcheong (25%), Jeolla (18%), and Gyeongsang (14%).

The Taekwondowon observatory cafe has also been renovated to enhance the experience for visitors, offering improved facilities for relaxation and enjoying panoramic views. Kim Joong-heon, president of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, stated, "With international events like the Taekwondo Day commemoration and Grand Prix Series scheduled for September, we will prepare to ensure domestic and international visitors can safely and enjoyably experience taekwondo culture."
