Taichung opens summer water play area at Zhongke Park

Taichung City's Zhongke Park, located at the end of the Tanayashan Green Road, is set to open its "Summer Water Play Area" on July 4, offering a refreshing escape for residents. The facility will operate through August 30.

The water play area boasts a variety of attractions, including water mist and spray features, a spray tunnel, a fountain, and two water cannons. These amenities are designed to provide children with ample opportunities for fun and allow adults to enjoy the summer coolness.

According to Chen Mei-hsiu, director of the Taichung City Tourism and Travel Bureau, the Zhongke Park water play area is free to enter. It will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Water features will operate for 10 minutes every hour and half-hour. The city government has arranged for staff to conduct regular inspections and manage water quality, with changing rooms and showers available to enhance user comfort and safety.

However, visitors are urged to adhere to park regulations. Eating, drinking, and running are prohibited within the water play area, and individuals are advised against looking directly into the spray nozzles to prevent accidents. The bureau also called on the public to help maintain the facilities for the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.

The Tanayashan Green Road itself spans approximately 13.1 kilometers, connecting the starting point in Tanzhi District to the endpoint at Zhongke Park in Daya District. Its gentle slopes and tree-lined paths make it ideal for family cycling and outdoor recreation.

The Zhongke Park 'Summer Water Play Area' is completely free. It is expected to open from July 4 to August 30, operating every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with water running for 10 minutes at the top and bottom of each hour.
