Taichung's Shuinan Transfer Center Enters Final Inspection, Public Tender Announced

Taichung's Shuinan Transfer Center is nearing completion and is set to become a significant new transportation and commercial hub. The center has entered its final inspection phase, with the city's Transportation Bureau officially announcing the tender for its commercial operations starting June 4. This move aims to expedite the center's opening and establish it as a new focal point within the Shuinan Economic and Trade Park.

The Shuinan Transfer Center is one of four major transfer hubs planned for Taichung, alongside Fengyuan, Taichung Station, and Wuri. The Fengyuan center is already operational, and the Taichung Station center is expected to be completed this year. The Shuinan center, completed ahead of schedule in February, boasts a strategic location near National Freeway 1 and Provincial Highway 74, positioning it as a crucial link for central Taiwan.

Designed for a composite operational model, the center will integrate national highway buses, city buses, park-and-ride facilities, and commercial services. It will offer 42 bays for national highway buses and 12 for city buses, alongside 614 car parking spaces, 1,253 motorcycle spots, and 604 bicycle spaces. Notably, a space has been reserved on the B1 level for future connection to the MRT Green Line.

The facility spans approximately 3.35 hectares and includes commercial development areas on the first and fourth floors, suitable for convenience stores, restaurants, and food courts. The tender process, operating under a 30-year concession agreement, will run until June 26, 2027, inviting businesses to capitalize on the synergy with other major developments in the area.
