Tainan Expands 'Little Yellow Bus' Service with Three New Routes into Rural Areas

Tainan City is significantly expanding its "Little Yellow Bus" (Xiao Huang Gong Che) service, introducing three new routes to penetrate deeper into remote villages and areas with limited public transportation. Starting June 26, the addition of routes 'Huang 3', 'Green 33', and 'Green 34' will bring the total number of Little Yellow Bus routes in the city to 47.

The 'Huang 3' route will operate between Xinying and Deyuanpi, serving communities in Xinying and Liuying districts. Recognizing the narrow roads and lower demand during off-peak hours in areas like Xiaojiaotui and Dajiaotui, this route will utilize a hybrid model. Regular buses will run during peak hours, while the Little Yellow Bus will provide shuttle services during off-peak times, balancing service quality with transportation efficiency. This route also connects Xinying and Liuying train stations and passes by Liuying Chimei Hospital and several schools, catering to student commutes and residents' medical needs.

Route 'Green 33' will connect Tanding Daitian Temple to Annan Hospital, bridging the New City and Annan districts and filling a long-standing public transport gap in areas like Dazhouliao and Shennei. Passengers can transfer to the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) and multiple city bus routes at New City Station, or connect to routes heading to the city center and Tainan Station at Heshun Transfer Station. The route also serves key locations such as Annan Hospital, Chih-Tsing University of Technology, New City District Office, New City Market, and the Asia-Pacific International Baseball Training Center.

Route 'Green 34' is designed as a one-way loop service originating and ending at Xinhua Station, offering eight trips daily. It connects important community nodes including the Xinhua Household Registration Office, community activity centers, Zhengxin Twilight Market, Xinhua Old Street, and the Xinhua District Office. This route enhances connectivity for residents, allowing them to transfer to other bus lines for travel to the city center or nearby districts, and also offers pre-booked services to Tainan Hospital Xinhua Branch, greatly improving transportation convenience for the elderly and those seeking medical care.
