Much of Taiwan is bracing for intense heat today, with the Central Weather Administration issuing high-temperature advisories for four cities and counties.

Taipei and New Taipei City are under an "orange alert," indicating a high probability of continuous temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius (96.8 degrees Fahrenheit).桃園市 (Taoyuan City) and 彰化縣 (Changhua County) are under a "yellow alert," with temperatures expected to exceed 36 degrees Celsius.

The weather agency strongly advises the public to limit non-essential outdoor activities and physical labor. Staying hydrated, using sun protection, and ensuring indoor spaces are well-ventilated and cool are crucial measures to prevent heatstroke.

Particular attention should be paid to vulnerable populations, including the elderly, children, individuals with chronic illnesses, and those working or exercising outdoors. Authorities recommend employing personal or environmental cooling methods, such as using fans or ice packs, to mitigate the effects of the extreme heat.
