Taipei Candidates Help Flood Victims Clean Up Neihu District

Taipei City Councilor candidate Shen Po-yang and his colleague, candidate Chen Yu-hsin, rolled up their sleeves to help residents in the Neihu district clean up after severe flooding. The two candidates were seen donning masks and working on the ground, clearing mud and debris from affected homes.

According to videos shared by Chen Yu-hsin on social media, Shen and Chen eschewed their campaign attire for practical workwear. They were focused on clearing alleyways to ensure proper drainage and facilitate disinfection efforts, recognizing the urgency of the situation following heavy rains. Shen noted that these areas are typically difficult to access for regular cleaning.

Legislator candidate Kao Chia-yu also joined the cleanup efforts, providing encouragement and assistance with moving debris. She was seen helping an elderly woman dismantle water-damaged wooden boards and inquired about the distribution of disaster relief funds with the district office. Kao pledged to remain on the front lines to support residents in rebuilding their homes and restoring normalcy.

The flooding in Neihu occurred after heavy rainfall, impacting numerous households. Shen had previously visited the area to check on residents and reminded them about necessary hygiene and safety precautions during the cleanup process, emphasizing the importance of protective gear and disinfecting affected spaces.
