Taipei Police Help Japanese Tourists Reclaim Lost Phones

Two Japanese tourists visiting Taipei experienced distress after losing their mobile phones in a taxi after visiting the popular Ningxia Night Market. The incident occurred on June 5th when the tourists took a taxi to the market and, in their haste upon exiting, accidentally left their phones behind in the vehicle.

Fortunately, a Good Samaritan noticed the tourists' distress and guided them to a nearby police station for assistance. Officers at the Ningxia Road Police Station used mobile translation software to communicate with the tourists and understand the situation. They learned that the phones had been left in the taxi.

Police then attempted to call the tourists' lost phone numbers. Coincidentally, the taxi driver answered and informed the officers that he had found the phones and was on his way to deliver them to the Zhongshan 2nd Police Precinct. The officers at Ningxia Road Police Station then contacted their colleagues at Zhongshan 2nd Precinct to confirm the phones' arrival.

To ensure the tourists could retrieve their belongings promptly, the police arranged for another taxi to take them to the Zhongshan 2nd Precinct. The incident highlights the helpfulness of citizens and the efficiency of the police in assisting foreign visitors, even with language barriers. The Datong Precinct expressed that police officers are protectors of the people, and their service transcends borders, allowing foreign tourists to travel with peace of mind and experience Taiwan's warmth and hospitality.
