Taiwan FDA allows 501 products made with Zhonglian Oil to be relisted

Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced progress in the Zhonglian Oil case, releasing a list of 501 products eligible for relisting. These products were manufactured using 19 batches of cooking oil from Zhonglian Oil that have met the required standards for relisting.

The product list that can be relisted, including 501 products made from 19 batches of oil used by Taishan, Formosa Oil, and Fwusow Oil.

The FDA has forwarded the product information to local government health bureaus, which will oversee businesses in their jurisdiction. The decision on whether and when these products will be available for sale again rests with the individual businesses, under the supervision of local health authorities.

Officials stated that the listed products have undergone rigorous inspections and risk assessments. They were confirmed to meet food hygiene standards through a process of "source separation, item separation, batch confirmation, and upstream-downstream verification." This ensures the safety of the products for consumers.

Local governments will supervise businesses on whether and when to relist these products, respecting their autonomous decisions.

The FDA emphasized that the actual relisting process will respect the legal oversight of local health bureaus and the autonomous decisions of the businesses involved. The agency will continue to collaborate with local governments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

The aforementioned products have all undergone inspection according to the principles of 'source separation, item separation, batch confirmation, and upstream-downstream verification' and have been confirmed by the Food Risk Assessment Advisory Committee to meet food hygiene standards before being included in the scope of relisting, ensuring product safety.
