Taiwan People's Party appoints Wu Huang-sheng policy chief amid local election controversy

The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) has appointed Wu Huang-sheng as the executive director and spokesperson for its policy committee, aiming to bolster its strategic planning and public communication efforts ahead of the year-end elections. This move comes after Wu was involved in a local controversy regarding a city councilor nomination in Taichung. Wu had previously been a spokesperson for the TPP's Taichung chapter. The party announced that Wu will not be running for a Taichung City Councilor position in 2026, a decision that appears to have smoothed over the recent local nomination dispute. TPP Chairman Huang Kuo-chang highlighted Wu's comprehensive administrative experience, including roles as director of the Administrative Department in Hsinchu City and chairman of the Research, Development and Evaluation Commission in Taichung City. Huang stated that Wu's expertise in policy planning, administrative management, and public communication makes him a valuable asset for the party's critical campaigns. The party also announced other personnel appointments for upcoming elections in Miaoli County.

Not only does he teach at universities to cultivate talent, but he has also served as the Director of the Administrative Department of Hsinchu City Government, Chairman of the Taichung City Government's Research, Development and Evaluation Committee, and Director-General of the Taichung City Government's Information Bureau, possessing both policy planning, administrative management, and public communication capabilities.
