Taiwan People's Party to hold 7th-anniversary celebration in Taichung on August 2

The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) is set to celebrate its 7th anniversary with a major event in Taichung on August 2. This significant gathering will bring together the party's entire slate of candidates running for mayor and city council positions across various cities and counties.

Key party figures, including founding chairman Ko Wen-je and current party chair Huang Kuo-chang, along with all eight legislative members, are expected to attend. This demonstration of unity and vitality is particularly important as the TPP prepares for upcoming elections. Ko Wen-je garnered substantial support in Taichung during the 2024 presidential election, with 30.05% of the vote, highlighting the city's importance for the party.

The anniversary event will be held at the Zhen Ai Garden Hotel in Wuri District, Taichung, starting at 2:00 PM. A central focus will be the appearance of all candidates, underscoring the party's electoral ambitions. Notably, Chiayi mayoral candidate Chang Chi-kai will be the TPP's sole mayoral contender, drawing particular attention.

In addition to the political appearances, the celebration will feature a "Generational Challenges" themed exhibition, diverse local vendor stalls offering interactive experiences, and exclusive "Taichung Limited Edition" 7th-anniversary keychains. The TPP's choice of Taichung for its anniversary follows last year's celebration held in Taoyuan, indicating a strategic rotation of major party events.
