Taiwan Police Solve 'Asia Tungsten King' Murder After Reviewing 1,000 Cameras

Taiwanese police have cracked the murder case of a former "Asia Tungsten King," the chairman of Jingyuan Tungsten Industry Technology Co., Ltd., in Pingtung County. The breakthrough came after a 12-day investigation that meticulously reviewed over 1,000 surveillance cameras and tracked more than 300 vehicles.

The pressure during the investigation was immense. I specifically went to pray at Fangliao Baoan Temple and Checheng Fu'an Temple, seeking divine assistance.

The suspect, identified only as a former employee of the victim's company, was detained by a judge following his arrest. The investigation faced significant challenges, including damaged surveillance equipment due to a typhoon and the remote, sparsely populated location of the crime scene. Many crucial video recordings were of poor quality, making identification difficult, especially given the crime occurred at night.

Detective Chief of the Pingtung County Police Bureau, Ye Shijie, spoke about the immense pressure he felt during the investigation. He recounted visiting local temples, including Baoan Temple in Fangliao and Fu'an Temple in Checheng, to pray for guidance. Ye Shijie believes that moments of reflection during these visits helped him and his team find inspiration, ultimately leading them closer to solving the case.

Sometimes praying helps calm the mind, and with a change of heart, one works even harder. I also went to Fu'an Temple to ask the Earth God for help. Gradually, the direction of the investigation got closer to solving the case, and finally, we cracked it.

"I believe there is a god above, and human effort is aided by divine help," Ye Shijie stated, reflecting on the case's resolution. The victim, identified by his surname Huang, was reportedly bound and beaten to death in his residence in the early hours of July 24. The investigation initially struggled with limited surveillance footage and unclear communication records, but persistent efforts and divine inspiration, as described by the detective, led to the identification and apprehension of the suspect who matched the motive and modus operandi.
