Taiwan's Yunlin County Adds Lottery Prizes to National Tourism Subsidies

Yunlin County is enhancing Taiwan's national tourism subsidy program with its own exclusive offers, aiming to attract visitors and boost the local economy. Starting in September, the county is launching a series of incentives for tourists who stay overnight, integrating them with major local events scheduled throughout the fall season. Under the "Travel Yunlin with Gods 500 Draw" campaign, visitors who book accommodations at designated partner hotels can accumulate lottery entries six times faster. Prizes include Gogoro electric scooters, themed hotel room stays, iPhones, and cash. This initiative builds on the success of previous campaigns, which have already driven significant consumer spending and tourism numbers. County Magistrate Chang Li-shan highlighted that Yunlin is not only supporting the central government's initiative but also adding its own layer of benefits. The county aims to extend the tourism momentum from the summer into the fall, encouraging more people to experience Yunlin's attractions. The campaign hopes to capitalize on the upcoming events, such as the Caoling Stone Forest Healing Season, the Yunlin International Puppet Festival, and the Taiwan Coffee Festival, which will draw visitors to the county's 20 townships. Culture and Tourism Department Director Hsieh Ming-hsuan detailed that the increased lottery chances run for three months, with a Gogoro scooter to be drawn each month. September also features a chance to win a stay in a "Detective Conan" themed room at the Jianhu Mountain Resort Hotel. The grand finale in December will include a luxury car and high-end home appliances as prizes. The county encourages visitors to participate by saving receipts and registering their spending online, noting that national subsidy spots are limited.
