Taiwanese Actor Hsieh Tsu-wu Inspires Kaohsiung Youth with Career Advice

Taiwanese actor Hsieh Tsu-wu, known for his role in the classic drama 'Spicy Teacher,' recently inspired nearly 300 young attendees at a Kaohsiung forum with his career insights. The event, titled 'Feeling the Right Job,' focused on the theme 'A Low Starting Point is Not the End.' Hsieh, 58, reflected on his over 40-year entertainment career, admitting it was not always smooth sailing. He attributed his success to adhering to discipline, maintaining professionalism, punctuality, and precise execution, while also keeping a balanced perspective through career highs and lows.

Hsieh encouraged the youth not to be limited by their beginnings. He stressed the importance of continuous self-improvement, maintaining flexibility, and treating others kindly. "Your starting point is given by others, but your ending is written by yourself," he stated, likening career development to a process of continuous trial and accumulation rather than a single choice.

Following Hsieh's address, the Kaohsiung City Youth Bureau announced a series of five cross-industry workplace experience events scheduled for August. These initiatives aim to provide young people with direct exposure to corporate environments and industry trends, helping them define their career aspirations. The planned experiences will cover diverse sectors, including specialty dining, tourism and hospitality, chemical materials, smart agriculture, and technology manufacturing.
