Taiwanese Actors Shine in Hit Historical Drama 'Bone of Contention'

The historical drama "Bone of Contention" (雀骨) has concluded its run with a commendable 6.7 rating on Douban, surpassing other period dramas released in the same season, including "Hundred Flowers Kill" (百花殺) and "This Second Over the Line" (這一秒過火), which garnered lower scores.

The series featured strong performances from two Taiwanese actors, Wang I-lun and Peter Ho. Wang I-lun, formerly of the boy band SpeXial, has been gaining attention for his recent voice acting work in the Taiwanese version of "A Dream of Splendor" (書卷一夢). In "Bone of Contention," he shed his previous image to portray a complex antagonist, a "dark and tragic" character that showcased his range and added significant depth to the drama's political intrigue and emotional conflicts.

Peter Ho, a former idol drama heartthrob, also impressed with his role as a "scheming official." Transitioning from his iconic past roles, Ho delivered a performance that captivated viewers, shifting seamlessly between a doting father and a ruthless strategist.
