Taiwanese catcher Lin Chia-cheng hits career-high average with strong August performance

Taiwanese catcher Lin Chia-cheng, playing in the minor league for the Nippon-Ham Fighters, delivered a standout performance on Tuesday, hitting three doubles against the Oisix Niigata Phoenix. This multi-hit game continued his impressive streak in August, where he has maintained a batting average above .600.

Lin started as the third batter and collected his first hit, a double to left field, in his initial at-bat. After a groundout in the second inning, he singled to right field in the fourth, later scoring on a grand slam by a teammate. He added a sacrifice fly to right field in the fifth inning, driving in a run, and secured his third hit, another double to left field, in the sixth inning before being substituted out in the ninth.

With his three hits in four at-bats, Lin Chia-cheng contributed one RBI and raised his batting average to a career-high .326. His performance in August has been particularly remarkable; in seven games played, he has amassed 10 hits in 16 at-bats, achieving a .625 batting average for the month. This consistent hitting has earned him the nickname "60% man" for his August performance.
