Taiwanese HBL champions to train in Hokkaido with Japanese teams

Taiwan's top high school basketball champions are heading to Hokkaido, Japan, for an intensive training and cultural exchange program. The boys' champions from Songshan High School and the girls' champions from Yangming High School will represent Taiwan in this international event.

Led by Zhu Caifeng, secretary-general of the High School Sports Association, the teams will engage in friendly matches and training sessions with elite Japanese high school and university basketball squads. This initiative aims to broaden the players' horizons, expose them to different playing styles, and foster international goodwill through sports.

The trip, scheduled for 2026, is more than just a training camp; it's an opportunity for these young athletes to experience a different basketball culture and build connections with their peers in Japan. Such exchanges are crucial for their development, both on and off the court, providing valuable lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, and global awareness.
