The Unified Lions have placed one of their key catchers, Chang Hsiang, on the minor league roster after he sustained an ankle injury. The incident occurred during a bunt attempt in the ninth inning of a recent game, leading to his placement on the secondary team. Lions manager Lin Yueh-ping expressed hope that the injury will not impact Chang Hsiang's performance in the upcoming Asian Games in September. Chang Hsiang is a national player for the Taiwanese team in the Asian Games, and the club is adopting a cautious strategy to ensure his readiness for international competition. Lin stated that the injury is considered moderate, manageable, and allows for normal walking, but prevents him from practicing or competing. He is expected to need three days for swelling to subside. The team has called up Ko Yu-min to fill the roster spot, but Lin emphasized that Ko needs to adapt to the intensity of the major league level, noting past performance discrepancies.
