Taiwanese pitcher Chen Mu-Heng throws 4 no-hit innings, maintains perfect ERA

Orix Buffaloes' 20-year-old Taiwanese pitcher Chen Mu-Heng continues to impress in Japan's minor league, extending his scoreless streak this season. In his second appearance for the team's second squad, Chen delivered a stellar performance, pitching four no-hit, no-run innings.

Chen entered the game in relief and efficiently retired batters through the fourth and fifth innings. Although a teammate's error allowed a runner to reach base in the sixth, Chen remained composed, striking out two batters and retiring the side without allowing any runs. His outing concluded after 45 pitches, with his fastest fastball recorded at 152 kph.

This performance has kept Chen's earned run average (ERA) at a perfect 0.00 for the season. He previously shone as the ace pitcher for Taiwan's U18 team in the Asian Youth Championship, earning awards for best pitcher, ERA, and winning percentage. He was subsequently signed by the Orix Buffaloes on a development contract.

Last season, his debut year in Japan, Chen appeared in five games, posting a 1-0 record with a 1.17 ERA. His continued strong pitching in the minor league signals promising potential for the young Taiwanese talent.
