Taiwanese Sculptor Wu De-Chun Showcases Steel Works at NTNU Exhibition

The National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) is currently hosting an exhibition of works by renowned Taiwanese sculptor Wu De-Chun, an artist who has spent 43 years honing his craft in Paris. Wu is celebrated internationally for his distinctive steel welding sculptures, which have found homes in prestigious museums worldwide. This exhibition, titled 'Wu De-Chun Iron Sculpture Exhibition,' offers a unique opportunity for students and the public to engage with his powerful artistic vision.

Wu De-Chun's artistic journey began with his move to France in 1983, where he earned dual certificates from the Paris School of Fine Arts and the School of Applied Arts. His early career included assisting the famed French sculptor César, allowing him to deeply integrate into the European modern sculpture tradition. His work is characterized by the use of steel welding, where he meticulously deconstructs and reconstructs the human form.
