As the summer holidays approach, students preparing for the new academic year are being reminded of a government initiative designed to ease their financial strain. The Ministry of the Interior's "30 billion yuan Central Expansion of the Rent Subsidy Program" is available to students aged 18 and over who rent accommodation in Taiwan and meet specific eligibility requirements.

The苗栗 County Government's Industrial Development Bureau has outlined a three-step process to help students and their parents navigate the rental market safely. The first step emphasizes verifying the property's legal status by checking for tax registration or building permits, which is crucial for both safety and subsidy eligibility. The second step involves thoroughly reviewing the rental agreement to ensure it clearly states the tenant's and landlord's details, the full address, and the rental period and cost.

For students already receiving subsidies who need to move, the program offers a simplified procedure. Instead of a new application, they only need to submit a change request form along with their new lease agreement. This streamlined process aims to reduce administrative burdens for students who relocate during the subsidy period, ensuring continued support without unnecessary complications.
