Taiwanese Variety Show 'Mr. Player' Features Intense 'Beauty and the Beast' Challenge

The popular Taiwanese variety show "Mr. Player" recently filmed an episode with a "Beauty and the Beast" theme in the resort area of Pingtung, hosted by Jacky Wu and KID.

Instead of the expected bikini-clad women, the show opened with contestants donning masks, portraying "beasts." Four female guests, Yi Xin, Ji Bu Xin, Shu Zi Chen, and Chen Jing Xuan, dressed as princesses, were tasked with pairing up with their "beast" teammates, including KID, Huang Deng Hui, Xue En, and Mei Li Ben Ren.

One of the initial challenges involved a "song matching" game designed to test the contestants' listening comprehension. This proved difficult, with Chen Jing Xuan questioning if the music was indeed folk songs, and Ji Bu Xin finding the melodies too similar. The high difficulty level pushed many contestants to their limits.

Teamwork was further tested in an "idiom guessing" segment. KID, playing a large rabbit, was misinterpreted as a frog by his teammates, causing frustration. The production team then introduced "function cards" to intensify the competition. One particularly ruthless card, "Send Teammate Back to Taipei," immediately made KID a target.

As the competition heated up, alliances began to form, with Huang Deng Hui, Shu Zi Chen, Mei Li Ben Ren, and Ji Bu Xin discussing a potential pact. However, the unpredictable nature of the game, especially the function cards, led to mistrust. Mei Li Ben Ren expressed her disillusionment after falling into a trap, stating, "Finally, I feel the cunning of people; truly, no one can be trusted!"
