Tajikistan Begins Construction of 340-Meter Dushanbe Tower Complex

Tajikistan has begun construction of what developers describe as the region’s tallest structure, a 340-meter tower planned for Dushanbe. President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali laid the foundation stone on September 3 in the capital’s Shohmansurkh district.

The 77-story Dushanbe Tower will anchor a 52-facility architectural complex. Plans include five high-rise towers and what is described as the region’s largest shopping and entertainment center, alongside a hotel, restaurants, shops, offices, a 1,000-seat concert hall, a cinema, a children’s area, a sports complex, a park and a lake.

The development will also contain 42 residential buildings with 6,160 apartments, a school for 1,200 students and a kindergarten for 500 children. The complex will cover 29 hectares. Its planned 270,000 square meters will combine residential, business, commercial, tourist and social facilities.

The project is expected to create more than 4,300 jobs. TAS INTERNATIONAL GROUP will build the complex over five years, with more than 2,000 local construction workers involved. Cool Design, which is preparing the design, said specialist companies from Uzbekistan, Russia and the United Arab Emirates will also participate alongside Tajik firms.

Rahmon instructed officials to ensure high construction quality and use modern architectural solutions that meet international standards. Developers say the complex will symbolize modern urban development in Dushanbe and use digital management technologies. It will be built along A. Donish, N. Muhammad, A. Dehlavi, A. Lohuti, A. Adkhamov, F. Attor and S. Shedrin streets.
