Tajikistan introduces tourism fund financed by travel fees

Tajikistan has created a new Tourism Development Fund aimed at bolstering its tourism industry. This initiative seeks to provide financial resources for the growth and promotion of tourism within the Central Asian nation.

One of the primary funding streams for this new fund will be a 5% charge levied on the cost of tourist packages that Tajik citizens purchase for their trips abroad. This measure aims to generate revenue domestically to support the development of Tajikistan's own tourism offerings.

In addition to contributions from outbound Tajik travelers, the fund will also collect revenue from foreign tourists. These visitors will be required to pay a specific fee for each day they spend traveling within Tajikistan. Further financial support for the Tourism Development Fund will come from various other sources.
