Take Precautions! These Are the Marches and Gatherings Planned for This Saturday, July 25, in Mexico City

Mexico City residents are advised to prepare for multiple marches and gatherings planned for Saturday, July 25. The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) has outlined several mobilizations across the capital, impacting traffic and public spaces.

One notable event is a forum organized by the Front for the Defense of the Rights of the Peoples and Barrios of Anáhuac at the San Pedro Cuajimalpa Community House. They will discuss the proposed General Law of Rights of Indigenous and Afro-Mexican Peoples, slated for formal presentation to Congress in 2026.

Democrats Abroad will hold a "Vigil for Latinx Families" at the Monument to the Revolution, focusing on justice for migrants facing violence or death during U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement operations. Meanwhile, the Pedregales Community Action group will gather at Estadio Banorte for an event addressing the social impacts and privatization stemming from the 2026 World Cup in Mexico.

Other planned events include a cannabis rights advocacy gathering by Plataforma 420 at the Monument to the Mother, a demand for safe spaces for cannabis consumers by Las Hijas de la Cannabis at Plaza Tlaxcoaque, and a solidarity event for Cuba by the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba at Panteón San Fernando.

Additionally, Semillas Guinda will convene an assembly on popular representation at Pilares Vasco de Quiroga, and the Brigada Sumud will meet at the León Trotsky Museum to coordinate actions in solidarity with Palestine. Neon Protest plans a demonstration at Parque Lincoln advocating for animal rights and the abolition of animal exploitation.
