Talleres de Córdoba honors veteran journalist Ramón Gómez

The Argentine football club Talleres de Córdoba held a surprise party to honor journalist Ramón Gómez, celebrating his 55-year career in journalism. Gómez, who has been a correspondent for the newspaper Clarín in Córdoba, received a special tribute from the club's president, Andrés Fassi.

Fassi presented Gómez with a Talleres jersey, featuring the number 10 and his name on the back. The event was attended by colleagues, club officials, friends, and family. Tributes included two videos: one showcasing Gómez's work from various locations and another featuring heartfelt messages from his colleagues at Clarín, including Horacio Pagani and Daniel Lagares.

Gómez, fondly known as 'El Negro,' shared anecdotes from his time working on the show "Pequeñas Historias," which aired for 16 years on Show Sport. He also fondly remembered key figures he maintained good relationships with over the years, such as Amadeo Nuccetelli and Ángel Labruna. The president of the Córdoba Journalists' Circle, Luis Salinas, presented Gómez with a plaque recognizing his career with Clarín.

Having started his career in 1970 and serving as Clarín's correspondent in Córdoba since 1971, Gómez has received multiple honors. In 2016, he was awarded the Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera prize for his 45 years in journalism, and in 2019, he was recognized by the Legislature of the City of Córdoba. The celebration was filled with memories and emotions, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career.
